To all members of Salem Youth Baseball,

Our league will hold 2022 Executive Board elections at an Election meeting. This meeting will be held on Thursday, October 28th at 6PM.  Per the Salem Youth Baseball Constitution, to be considered for a Board position one must be an Active Regular Member:  Regular members shall be made up of the league officers, managers, coaches, plus any other person who is making a significant contribution of time to the league and has been given approval to vote by the Board of Directors.  Individuals convicted of a felony or any sexual assault or any crimes against children shall be ineligible to be a Regular Member of Salem Youth Baseball.

In order to run for a position on the Executive board, please send a note of interest along with which position on the Executive Board you are interested in to Sean Conway( ) & Ashlee Stevens( ) by 5pm on Tuesday October 26th.

Like all Little League programs, Salem Youth Baseball operates thanks to dozens of volunteers who dedicate hundreds of hours each calendar year……Volunteers like you. In 2022 we intend to have many opportunities for parents to volunteer throughout the year – we would also like to ask for volunteers to help fill the additional Board of Directors positions.  The Board of Directors of Salem Youth Baseball shall be nominated by the President for one year and elected by a majority vote of all Executive Board members present.  This will also be determined at our meeting on 10/28.

The board officially intends to meet once per month and board meetings typically last for 1.5 – 2 hours. In the months leading up to the start of the seasons we often need to hold ad hoc meetings to discuss preparation details. The amount of time board members spend working on league matters in between meetings depends on the position and individual motivation. Some positions have peaks during the year where a significant amount of time is required while others retain a more intense commitment the entire year.  The term of each Board Member is for one year from 11/1/21 thru 10/31/22.

Salem Youth Baseball will evolve and improve with new ideas from your fresh voices.

Our friends at Salem Youth Basketball are holding Travel team tryouts over the next couple weeks.  Tonight tryouts will be held for 7th and 8th grade boys, 6th and 8th grade girls and 4th grade boys and girls.  All the information is included below;

Parents are not allowed in the gym during tryouts.  All players will enter through the back entrance of the field house.  They will all have to answer health related questions before being allowed to tryout. Then they will get a squirt of hand sanitizer.   They must wear a mask into the gym and can remove it once they begin the tryout. 

The Exchange Section of the web site is now open.   This service can be used to post information about used baseball equipment that is in working condition and you would like to sell.  This area will also be used as an on-line lost and found where the posting can take place.

To access the exchange, click on the "Exchange" tab on the left on the home page of SYB.  You can also see current items in the Exchange listed on the right side of the SYB home page.

Please note that the Exchange is a service for the membership of SYB and should only be used for listing your own used equipment.  It  is not to be used for non-baseball advertising by the SYB membership or by any outside companies with out the permission of the SYB Board of Directors.
