How to get involved with SYB

By Information Officer 08/13/2024, 3:30pm EDT

Salem Youth Baseball continues to have unprecedented success on and off the field

  • Salem Youth Baseball continues to have unprecedented success on and off the field and on the eve of our first ever appearance in the Little League World Series, we are getting a lot of questions and inquiries on how best to help and participate with SYB now and in the future.  We are grateful for every player, volunteer, business partner and community member who are involved with SYB and have lots of ways to get involved:
  •
  • How to directly help the families of the players in the LLWS:  This GoFundMe has been established for community support to help offset some of the unanticipated expenses that the families of these amazing athletes will incur along the way, mainly for transportation to and lodging in Williamsport to remain close to their players and support them in person.
  • Volunteer to Coach this Fall: Fall Ball Registration is open now (click here to register) with participation on pace to be the largest ever for SYB Fall Ball! While this is a great achievement and shows community support for our program, a successful season cannot happen without a strong base of volunteer coaches at all levels.
  • Play Fall Ball (and/or Spring): All the players who we will be seeing on ESPN in the LLWS and who have won state titles at various age levels these past few years all played Salem Youth Baseball, many in both seasons!  By signing your player up to participate in SYB it supports the program and town as well as the player.
  • Reach out to our Volunteer Coordinator: We are always open to ways in which our volunteers can help us during the season as well as before and after.  We will continue to message out new opportunities, but if you have a skill or trade or availability to volunteer, please let us know!
  • Sponsor a Team or provide in-kind support that best fits your company: Please reach out to our fundraising director if you would like to sponsor a team in an upcoming season or provide other support through your business.  We have quantifiable success with our sponsorship partners that results in a win-win for all!
  • Join in on the SYB LLWS 60/40 Raffle: More information to be released starting tomorrow!
  • Sell or Buy a Pie this Fall: The Fall Pie Fundraiser will return this year, with opportunities for our players to sell pies and our community to buy pies to support SYB.
  • Watch a Salem LLWS Game with us at Par28:  The first game will air on Wednesday, Aug 14 at 3:00 PM.  Join us starting at 2:00 PM at Par28 to watch along.
